Changes of season always bring about feelings of fresh starts and fresh looks.

With this in mind I Periodically have two inches cut off my hair every few months to save it from
A. The remains of my over bleached Do
and
B. The self inflicted monotony/ torture of trying to grow it and kid myself that I have lustrous locks.

This is my new Do for the next few months.
I always feel empowered when I have a few inches off, like I am no longer a slave to the stereotype or  something to that effect- kind of a "F*ck you system, if I want to have glorified curtains, a la Beckham 1998, then I will, goddamit!

Although this post completely contradicts my last post regarding a lack of blogging due to my final project, (I know, how will you ever trust what I say again?!) I am on a quick break and half way done- yippee!- So as a celebration I decided to share some photos with you.

 My best friend Lisa and I were invited to the Metro centre fashion live event last week- the largest shopping centre in Europe (quite how I was unaware of this I am not sure, but you learn something new every day!)

The event was very impressive and we were so wonderfully treat that it made me love our fair city even more.

I wore my new H&M neon necklace and some Reiss snakeskin print silk trousers which remind me somewhat of classic Missoni with the zig zag pattern and all.

I am loving the fresh mix of mint, lime green and neon at the moment - wardrobe saturation is a real risk but one I am willing to take.

"BLOOM SKIN" ISSEY MIYAKE

                       

Just a few minutes to make your heart stop... Issey Miyake's retail project comprising of eight computer controlled fans and a single piece of fabric... aptly named 'Organdie'. The material used is the same as that of their 'Bloom Skin' SS12 collection. Calming, simplistic beauty.

To quote a famous frog "It isn't easy being green" and I'll tell you one thing, Kermit weren't wrong.

I find Green one of the hardest colours to pull off on the bottom half without looking like an elf/ extra from Robin hood- are they the same thing?

These pants were sent to me by the lovely guys at Fashion Union- home of some wicked SS pieces- currently coveting this Orange pleated number.

They are light weight with a slight sheen to them and mould perfectly to your body - I always find it hard to get tight pants that stay tight, by that I mean don't bag around the knees, bum or waist- so far, these have proved to be good candidates- definitely a firm favourite.

I paired them with a lavinder chasmere jumper and a light blue oxford shirt to balance out the green and add a sense of impish mischief- I realise this may seem like a total contradiction to my earlier stament about elves- but imps are a whole different kettle of fish.

With a lemon bag and metallic shoe, I feel all a glow with the joys of Spring... now if only the weather would stay equally as bright.

If I am ever down, on any day, there is one colour that is sure to remove me from my funk... yellow.

It is such an emotive colour- powerful, and cheerful whilst still somehow keeping its cool.

I spotted this little number in Paris and ran to snap it up before my boyfriend could even see where I had gone, not that he could miss me in this bold beauty.

With the promise of sun just around the corner I couldn't resist breaking out the big guns in a bid to hurry it along a bit.

I am a massive fan of monochrome dressing, black and white epitomise effortless chic and when you find a piece that incorporates both with such ease you don't even have to justify buying it, you just come together - it's the laws of attraction.

These pants not only fulfil my monochrome needs (and a nod to 3.1 Phillip Lim) they are one of the most comfortable items of clothing I have purchased as of late, they remind me somewhat of the KAPPA track pants I was attached to as a child- hey, they were cool in 1997.

Paired with an old favourite grey T-shirt (I don't even know where this is from anymore I have had it that long, you know when you just can't throw something away, no matter how many holes you have mended.)

Along with my current favourite SBS (simple black sandals) and a black clutch that harbours much more than one would think at first glance (not helping my mission to refine bag contents at all.)

I don't think I know a single person who has not absolutely fallen in love with this seasons colour palette.

With so many different shades, tones and takes on the trend, 3.1 Philip Lim, Chanel and Louis Vuitton captured our imaginations, setting the tone for Spring... the sweeter, the better.

I just managed to beat the recent freak snow storm in an out and out 'sweet shop' inspired outfit.

Re-living my childhood as a playful vagabond- I was the kind of child who would play outside and make perfum out of flower petals- these colours remind me of the Pixie Stick sherbet tubes you used to get when you were younger (back in the days when you could actually buy single penny sweets) the jacket and trousers are wonderfully soft and slide off the body in the same way the sugary treats would run down your throat as you threw your head back, trying to get the remains from the bottom.

*At this point I must say that getting out paint stains from said garments isn't as hard as one would think- I fell foul to splatters of paint whilst styling a photo shoot in this outfit- not the brightest thing I have ever done but it was worth it, this is a passion project that I am so excited to show you!!!*

This shirt I got in Paris, it's a dreamy pale blue with a minty under-tone and fits like it was made just for me, did I mention that I found it in a little vintage shop just off Madeleine lane...coincidence? I think not.

Beauty's where you find it...

Lana Del Rey recently recieved one of the highest of accolades within fashion publication... gracing the cover of Vogue.
Now I am a massive fan of the Del Rey, I fell in love with her voice last year when she melted onto the scene with that harrowing, raspy tone that you thought only existed in 1930's movies (at this point my mind drifts to a floor length number, in a dimly lit bar with table lamps and smoke in the air.)
Despite the heart melt- I can't help but think that maybe it is a bit premature?
I'm not denying that Lana is absolutely beautiful- a sort of hill billy, Jessica rabbit cross- and I cannot get over how much she looks like a young Mena Suvari, all bow lipped and blue eyed- but the Vogue cover is a much coveted position.
It is a trophy, a beacon of your success, talent and beauty - something that few people attain and by having this honour bestowed upon you, you instantly become a part of history - with fantastic company in tow.
The most iconic covers- or at least the ones that stick in my head- are that of the super model, the absolutely beautiful, inspirational models of the 90's and early 00's - the type that made you dream of becoming a super model, regardless of realistic attainability.
This is how I like my covers stars, real-life muse's.

Too soon, too contrived, whatever the debate- I can tell you one thing, Alexandra Shulman sure knows how to commision a stunning shot.

Lack of technology has forced me to beg, borrow or steal a few moments on friends and family's computers... I am also inundated with Uni work, all this has resulted in my lack of posting, so apologies all round.
For now I will leave you with a bit of a pastel party...As we ascend into warmer climates (supposedly) I am finding it harder to accept that our summers are getting shorter and shorter. So in light of this, I have taken it upon myself to wear my Spring/Summer wardrobe anyway (I'm sure a lot of you have adopted the same attitude.)
With sherbet colours dominating collections, it is all you can do not to get tooth ache whilst imagining all the different ways you can wrap yourself in sugar spun hues.
Channeling a Lady like/sporty highbred take on pastels, donning my old faithful Burberry trench (which has to have been my all time best purchase in the price per wear stakes) my bargain bag and a last season shoe with a pop of yellow on the front and back insole.
I cannot wait for the sun to finally slice through the frost and the streets to become awash with all manner of pixie stick shades and impossibly perfect chiffons and silks.
