Lucid dreams

A little bit of pastel love at the oscars last night. Mila Kunis in Elie Saab and Cate Blanchett in Givenchy
Two of my favourite dresses on two of my favourite people, makes for some lovely viewing.
I absolutely Love the embellishment on the soft materials, the pop of neon and the subtle lace inserts.
It urges me to feel that were these two dresses were to mate the result would be some sort of super-dress that you could not look directly at. Somewhat like a solar eclipse.

Honey nut berry

Shirt: Top shop
Trousers: Zara
Bag: mulberry
Shoes: Zara
I wore this outfit for a charity boxing match, which by the way is no where near as brutal as it sounds. It was a rather civilized affair and we spent the whole time on our own table eating the free desserts and drinking champagne, I'm sure there were some fights going on somewhere!
I'm slowly infiltrating some of my newly acquired summer garments into my wardrobe, building up to those acid brights and white, whites ala Sander and co!
Another one of my Christmas buys, a patient leather mulberry bag/laptop case in a yummy berry maroon, that miraculously changes colour to purple in the sun , you can sort of see what I mean in the second to last picture. Magical Mulberry.
I love any sort of material that just drapes on the body and these extra long trousers and shirt do exactly that, just the right amount of cling and just enough swing (Oh Jesus, I'm rhyming now).

Fashion fades...

Stylecaster.com recently got together some of Newyorks most stylish and influential people from all corners of the fashion, music, editorial and beauty industry's which included, Olivia Palmero, Pamela Love and Simon Doonan (Barney's NY). I love pieces like this as it goes to show that it doesn't matter what age, colour, gender, class or creed; style is found in all forms and there is no restriction or formula for inspiration.
P.S How beautiful are Stefani Pappas' shots

Happiness just isn't happiness without a violin playing goat.

Jacket: French connection
Jumper: Top shop
Shoes: Zara
Dress: Zara
Bag: Zara
Have you ever bought an item of clothing and just known that it will stand the test of time in your ever changing, fickle wardrobe? This jacket it one such item. Acquired nearly two years ago from french connection, every winter/autumn/ spring and sadly summer (this is England after all) it comes out to play and keep me warm. Maybe its the mid length sleeves, maybe its the massive collar, or maybe its just because its black and goes with everything. Either way she's like that friend that no matter how long it's been since you've seen each other things always never change and feel comfortable when you're together (yes, I do indulge in a bit of anthropomorphism when it comes to my clothes but everyone does right?)

It's the little things

Did a little bit of street stalking today for my other blog studentstylefsn and some of my favourtie images were of little the details: Marc Jacobs and converse, white collar with jumper, stripes and vintage denim, blue socks and docmartins, shearlinng and suede, burberry and woolen tights.

I'll be here when you're ready

Acne AW11
Ok this needs to stop. It would appear I am a glutton for punishment as no matter how hard I try I cannot deviate from looking at LFW and the fact that the AW collections are sending me reeling!
Acne showed an especially scrumptious display that makes me think of a 90's/70's cross pollination.. two of my favouritest eras (along with the 30's but that's another story for another time) I love the casual use of coloured leather - you can never have enough on this in my opinion, and structured jackets.
Johhny Johansson is a dem-god when it comes to perfect draping and masculine tailoring in a feminine way *swoon*
The blue look is all I want in my life, to look like a wayward water nymph.

Late night and feeling fine

Inspiration in the wee hours: Big fringe and cerise lips, bright colour blocking, Anna dello Russo, anything with a train, red, contrasting florals from Nookie SS10

Just coz i said it, don't mean that i meant it

Blazer: Zara
Trousers: Zara
Shirt:Zara
Bag: miu miu
Shoes: christian louboutin
Jewellery: House of Harlow, topshop, vintage
Went for some drinks with a some of my male friends... it's always interesting being the only girl with a bunch of males on 'the hunt' their mentality never fails to amuse and amaze me, they have really taken heed from the gypsy art of 'grabbing'.
These shoes are one of my Christmas buys, so beautiful, mostly comfortable, and completely lethal when you have had a few drinks... I spent half the night on my backside from tripping over.
Red pants always make me feel like a super hero and these are no exception, I love Zara for perfect fitting cigarette trousers, in my humble opinion the best the high street has to offer.

Be Schouler my beating heart

As much as it makes me uneasy to the point of hyper ventilating that the AW ready to wear collections are being shown already (I have only just begun to get my head around how I am going to attain numerous coveted garments from the SS collections) I have to take a minute to celebrate Porenze Schouler. At NY fashion week Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough ruled the runway and I have to say I am love, love, loving the grown up/ Aztec take on western Boho (many references there, so you know it has to be good if they pulled them ALL off) Still harbouring resonance of the SS themes, so colour blocking, orange of all shades and jazzy, jazzy prints, PS (I abbreviate because I feel we're 'there' now) have me all a fluster over the next wave of autumn... It takes very strong men to have that effect. Also, is it just me or is there a slight air of Missoni on acid about it? Bloody marvellous.
The first and last looks be my fav.
